Neighborhood slashy Bluebird Liquors operated on this corner for 50 years under two different owners. We got the keys in early September, 1999 and became the third. On Thursday, 1/16/20, it will be 20 years since we opened our doors. We are humbled and incredibly grateful to have survived this long. We owe it all to an incredibly loyal base of regular customers and the most special group of people working behind this 60 ft bar and at the door over the last two decades. Running a small business is hard every day, but when you are fortunate enough to cultivate a staff and regulars that truly become family, the joy outshines any hardships. We are also incredibly thankful for the contributions of Beard & Belly, Bombay-breakdown, every guest chef that popped up for Sunday brunch from 2015-2017, every band that has played on Sunday nights over the years, and of course our business spouse and better half, The Biscuit Man. Please join us on Thursday, 1/16 anytime after 6:00 for a deep rage in celebration of this landmark. Our dear friends up the street Begyle Brewing were kind enough to brew us a special anniversary beer, “Six Minute Walk” pale ale fermented with Kviek yeast. We’ll also be tapping a barrel of Half Acre Pennon, a wild blonde ale fermented in wine barrels with a variety of wild yeasts. We will also be tapping some old friends: 3 Floyds Gumballhead; Ayinger Celebrator; Bell’s Two Hearted; Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald and Unibroue La Fin Du Monde. Hope to see your faces on Thursday!
