As an eight year old child trail blazer Chef Laura Piper filled her Radio Flyer red wagon with fresh produce from her family’s Chicagoland garden and sold it door to door to their neighbors. Her love for the culinary world and her ambition has never wavered.
Chef Piper’s education, talent, expertise, and passion for food have afforded her positions at some first class restaurants: El Raco D’en Freixa (Barcelona, Spain), Gibsons Steak House, Frontera Grill, Le Titi de Paris, and Trattoria No 10. Chef Piper is a 3-time winner of the Best Chefs America award.
She has earned One North Kitchen & Bar a spot on the Michelin-recommended list for 2013, and Diner’s Choice Awards from OpenTable in 2014 and 2015. And yet nothing has changed, the eight year old girl within still chooses the freshest ingredients from local farms and creates extraordinary yet approachable food that patrons can sink their teeth into.
